| Description: |
Over the years, Westminster High School has developed a number of very successful swimming and diving teams. In 1999, the girls' team won the Division III Connecticut Valley Secondary School Swimming Association Championship and moved to Division II in 2000. In 2001, they placed second in the championships. In 2003, the boys' team placed seventh in New England, their best finish in Westminster's history. In the last four years, the boys' team set 11 of the 13 possible school records and is looking to break the remaining two records. Counsilman-Hunsaker, in association with Graham Gund Architect, designed a world-class natatorium to help keep pace with the school’s excellent swim program. Plenty of natural lighting floods the indoor pool with large wrap-around windows and beautiful coved ceiling with sky lighting.
Amenities include:
• 25-yard, eight-lane competition pool • Springboard diving • State-of-the-art electronic timing system and scoreboard • Home and visiting team locker rooms • Spectator seating
